Fiscal health is created in the private sector PERIOD. Government jobs, entitlements and overregulation is the stranglehold on any society. Your Big Goverment scenario is a provenly failed strategy. @rwoodward61 Taxes are the main source of a governments power, less taxes mean less income, we don’t get enough new jobs off of tax cuts to gain revenue. If everyone made 100$ per year a 1% tax cut could mean that we would need to gain 35 million $ from new jobs or in other words 35 million jobs. That means 1/10 of our population would have to get a second job to pay in the same amount of taxes.
Tax cuts don’t generate revenue overall, it only results in less funding, which means budget cuts.

Where did you get your definition of conservatism? You were only half right. Low taxes creates economic growth and increases government revenue because more people have jobs. Bush was not a conservative. Reagan would be more like it. If Big Geverment is so wonderful, then why dont we just all get a Government job? If we all worked for the Goverment, where would tax revenue come from? And just so you know…there is no recovery anywhere!

Bush made the same mistake; cutting taxes and smoking that hopium that the government would grow smaller. Instead we just get a bigger debt. Big government doesn’t cause bankruptcy, the places with biggest government recovered last year already.
